Butterfly Gardens

While we were in Maryland for the Memorial Day weekend, we found time to go by the Brookside Gardens and visit the Butterfly Gardens. Now I haven’t had much experience with butterflies, but this was a completely unexpected surprise. I have never seen so many colorful insects in one place. What’s more, there were so many!

We walked a few laps of enclosure and I just kept snapping away.  I particularly enjoy this series due to the bright colors on the butterfly, and the fact that you can see the Proboscis as the butterfly eats.

  1. I have a friend who recently won a photography contest with similar shots. This is good stuff.
