The math on your 25.99 8×10 is off by a dollar. The profit loss difference with SmugMug is actually $1.90, not .90.

At current, Zenfolio does seem a bit snappier. I really can’t put my finger on anything specific, but simply navigating and performing general maintenance tasks seems quicker.

I think your best bet with regards to numbers in the search function is to try it out on Zenfolio and see how it works. You could also sign up for a trial account (feel free to use my discount code to save a few dollars should you decide to sign up) and test it yourself. So far, I’ve found the Zenfolio search at least as good as SmugMug, but again, I’m not doing much that’s tricky.

Great review! I have been with SmugMug for almost a year and am thinking of switching. Wondering how performance has been for you? Smug seems a bit sluggish at times and the search function is a bit tricky in how they handle numbers (very important for a race photographer).
